How to Convert Square Feet to Square Meters
Converting square feet to square meters is straightforward once you know the relationship between the two units. One square foot equals roughly 0.0929 square meters. So to convert, you multiply your square footage by that number.
That's really it. If you have a room that's 200 square feet, you multiply 200 by 0.092903 and get about 18.58 square meters. The calculator above does this automatically, but it's good to know what's going on behind the scenes.
A few things worth keeping in mind: always make sure you're working with area measurements, not linear ones. Square feet measure surface area, not length. If you accidentally enter a linear foot measurement, the result won't mean anything useful.
