How to Convert Ounces to Cups
The basic idea is simple: divide your fluid ounces by 8. That's it. One standard US cup holds 8 fluid ounces, so any conversion is just a matter of dividing by that number.
If you have 16 fluid ounces, divide by 8 and you get 2 cups. Have 4 fluid ounces? That's half a cup. The math stays consistent because you're working with a fixed volume relationship.
Things only get tricky when people mix up fluid ounces (a measure of volume) with weight ounces (a measure of mass). More on that in a moment. For liquid ingredients like water, broth, juice, or milk, the division-by-8 method works every time.
