How to Convert Quarts to Gallons
Converting quarts to gallons is genuinely one of the simpler unit conversions in the US customary system. There's one key fact to remember: 4 quarts equal 1 gallon. That's it. Once you have that locked in, the math takes care of itself.
To convert, take your number of quarts and divide by 4. If you have 8 quarts, divide by 4 and you get 2 gallons. Got 10 quarts? That's 2.5 gallons. Pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.
If you're going the other direction (gallons to quarts), just multiply by 4 instead. The same relationship works both ways.
