How to Convert Nm to ft-lb
Converting Newton meters to foot-pounds comes down to one simple multiplication. Take your Nm value and multiply it by 0.73756. That's it. No complicated math, no unit tables to memorize.
For example, if a bolt spec calls for 100 Nm, you multiply 100 by 0.73756 and get 73.756 ft-lb. Round it to 73.8 ft-lb and you're good to go.
This works in any situation: engine torque specs, fastener torque ratings, bicycle components, you name it. The multiplier stays the same regardless of the magnitude of the value you're converting.
If you ever need to go the other direction and convert ft-lb back to Nm, just divide by 0.73756 (or multiply by 1.35582). Both conversions are just one step.
